Creating a typeface ain’t easy.

    • It’s a kind of black magic and nobody really cares, hah. I start with setting an aim: I want to create a typeface for picture books for kids. It should remind handwriting. Capital letters only. There would be only one or two sentences per page. It should give a nice, soft expression.

I start with writing letters on dotted paper, finding common features. Then I digitalize it, work on it (shapes of letters) in Adobe Illustrator then in FontLab where I work on what one could call “everything what happens between letters/glyphs”. Because typeface is mostly what happens in “empty” spaces.
Okey, it’s boring for those who doesn’t care.
